Ellen Schmitz recently moved to St. Louis, and with the assistance of her two brothers, Frank and Claus, she decided to open a restaurant of her own: Mosaic Bistro Market.
Frank Schmitz is the owner of BARcelona, also located in Clayton on Central Avenue, and Claus Schmitz is the owner and chef of Mosaic Modern Fusion Restaurant located downtown on Washington Avenue.
Mosaic Bistro Market will feature French-inspired fare and a small market to entice home chefs to make their own creations.
Located in the former Benito Gelato's building, just a few doors down from BARcelona, the space is modern in design with seating up to 60 guests. The soft opening is scheduled for the early September, and a grand opening is set for Thursday, September 23.
